When ESG Becomes Culture: What Montagu Evans Shows Us About Meaningful Workplace Inclusion

Recognition hits hardest when it's backed by real, everyday actions, not just lofty intentions. That's why I was genuinely thrilled to see Montagu Evans named Property Week’s ESG Employer of the Year; it feels like a win that's truly earned.

This award goes way beyond policies or PR spin. It highlights a company that's woven culture, inclusion, and purpose right into its daily operations, turning them into the heartbeat of the business rather than just words on a page.

At Creative Debuts, we've had the privilege of partnering with the Montagu Evans team for several years through our artwork rental service, helping them bring their values to life in their workspace. I've seen firsthand how this collaboration sparks real change.

Using Art to Mirror the Communities You Serve

One of our latest projects celebrated South Asian Heritage Month, where we curated a vibrant collection of artworks by South Asian artists for Montagu Evans’ office.

The concept was straightforward yet profoundly impactful.

We infused the space with stories, identities, and bursts of colour that echoed the communities Montagu Evans serves and represents. The art wasn't mere decoration; it was about fostering presence, visibility, and sparking meaningful conversations.

When folks walked through, they didn't just glance at the walls; they felt seen and connected.

Why It All Matters

All too often, diversity, equity, and inclusion are relegated to reports and rarely translate into real-life applications. What this project showed me is that DEI truly shines when it's embedded in the environment around us.

Art has this unique power to make values tangible.

It transforms good intentions into tangible actions.

It serves as a constant nudge about who a business stands for and why.

This is the magic that happens when inclusion isn't a one-off campaign, but the very thread running through a company's culture.

Leadership Setting the Bar High

Huge shoutout to Alan Harris, Bhavini Shah, and Kellie Laing;  their leadership is raising the standard for authentic cultural commitment in the property world. It's inspiring to witness.

A Journey We're Sharing

To the entire Montagu Evans team, congratulations once more on this well-deserved nod. It's been an absolute joy collaboratingnot only preachesdoesn't just preach values but also embodies values every day.

Initiatives like this remind us at Creative Debuts why we're in this game. When art is wielded with purpose, it transcends the visual, becoming a bridge for connection, representation, and lasting positive impact.

And that's where the real transformation kicks off. If you're looking to infuse your space with that same energy, let's chat. Art can do wonders for your culture, too.
