LUKE ADAM HAWKER
Luke Adam Hawker is a British artist whose intricate drawings bridge the worlds of architecture, storytelling, and emotional connection. With a background in Architecture and Design, Luke brings a precision to his linework and a human depth to his compositions that has earned him a dedicated following around the world.
After beginning his career in design, Luke transitioned to working as a full-time artist in 2015. What sets his practice apart is his commitment to drawing on location a deliberate, mindful approach that invites stillness in a fast-moving world. Whether sketching the quiet grandeur of historical buildings or the subtle rhythm of city life, Luke’s work is rooted in observation, reflection, and a sincere effort to notice the world more deeply.
Luke uses his art as a way to connect with both place and people. His work, rendered with ink and a steady hand, captures architectural form and emotional nuance in equal measure. With a technical fluency shaped by his design background and a sensitivity to human experience, his drawings have a timeless quality that resonates across audiences.
Over the years, Luke has collaborated with a range of art consultants, interior designers, and retailers on both private commissions and large-scale projects. His clients include The Crown Estate, The National Trust, Highgrove House, Soho House, Penhaligon’s, Annabel’s, and the internationally renowned Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. His original works reside in significant collections such as the Parliamentary Art Collection and The Crown Estate, and have appeared in locations including Thomas Pink on Jermyn Street and St. James’s Street in London.
In 2021, Luke made his publishing debut with ‘Together’, a graphic novel and philosophical meditation on the experience of collective isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The book became a Sunday Times Bestseller, with over 130,000 copies sold across eleven languages, and has since become a meaningful touchpoint for readers around the globe seeking reflection and hope.
Building on that success, Luke released his second book in 2023, ‘The Last Tree: A Seed of Hope’. A poetic fable about nature, loss, and renewal, the book tells the story of a world without trees and the power of one seed to bring change. Like his illustrations, Luke’s storytelling is quietly powerful, rooted in human resilience and a deep appreciation for the world around us. The Last Tree has also been translated into eleven languages, marking Luke’s growing international presence as both a visual artist and author.
Luke’s limited edition prints are available in some of the UK’s most prestigious cultural institutions and destinations, including The Royal Opera House, St. Paul’s Cathedral, The Old Royal Naval College, Lloyd’s Building, Battersea Power Station Bookshop, and various National Trust sites.
Luke Adam Hawker’s work invites you to slow down, look again, and rediscover the beauty in the everyday. Through ink, architecture, and storytelling, he reminds us that the world is worth noticing and that even in quiet lines, we can find connection.
